Why does my windows pc blow air out of my tower?

My pc makes air blowing fan noises every 4 to 10 seconds or it blow 3 seconds long and stops can anyone help me

Answer #1

my pc has 2x 120mm intake and 1x 120mm exaust + 2x 92mm exausts and 2x 120mm on the cpu to keep it cool..

I control the speed of my fans from the bios… and I have it so the fans are very quiet but at the same time allow good cooling for performance

you do now want to mess with the fans… the intakes suck air in and the exausts remove the warm air from inside the chassis

if your bios allows it yes you can turn them down but if its a pre built oem dell or summet the chances are they will have removed these options from the bios

if it is a dell or summet do you know the model number and ill check for you?

or do you know what make and model your motherboard is??

Try shutting your Computer down for a while (like 1/2 hour), to let it cool off. And while it’s down, open the case and look for the fans. Make sure the wires running from each fan are plugged into something. If they’re plugged in, they’re more than likely in the right place. Did you check your CD drive? If the fans are particularly noisy, (sounds like that’s the case) they may be clogged with dust or just going out from age. They’re easy to clean with a q-tip and a can of compressed air (just block the fan blades from moving when you blow on them, to keep from spinning them wrong). Replacement fans are easy to find and really inexpensive most of the time. Find a computer supply store.

Most PCs have several fans. Some blow cool air in and are placed closer to the mid to lower portion of the lower while fans place near the top blow hot air out. Some newer computers actaully have temp reglators that turn the fans on and off when you need them. If the fan is posistion near the rear of the tower by where your power cord plugs into your computer. That is your Power Supply and that fan usually should be running non stop to keep the PSU cool.

Answer #4

It’s an internal fan. Probably the CPU cooler. Don’t worry. a lot of newer model PC’s have some pretty hardcore fans and cooling systems. Your comp could be overheating, if it runs for days at a time at peak performance. shut down for about half an hour if you think its a problem.

I just remembered, Take the disks out of any cd drives you have. The noise could be your CD drive ‘’choking’’ on a bad disk. When it tries over and over to read a CD that it can’t read.
