Why does my vagina have an odor?

My vagina kinda smells fishy? Im scared that I might have an infection? But people say that its supposed to have an odor? What do I do? Because some people tell me to do douching but I cant ask my mom for one because she wont give one to me and she’ll ask why. I have started my period but im a virgnin. I masterbate sometimes and I dont use my finger. Me and my boyfriend are wanting to have sex but I dont want him to “smell me. Please help!!!

A vagina does have a smell, but it should not be a strong bad odor. If there is too strong of an odor, you will need to see a doctor because that usually signals an infection or poor hygiene.

Fishy Smell - usually indicates a yeast infection. A vagina does have it’s own odor, but it should not smell strong and should not smell fishy. That is the first sign of an infection. You need to see your doctor right away before it get’s worse.

It’s really hard to say. It’s normal for vaginas have a bit of an odor, it’s how strong the odor is is what you should be worried about. Is there an odd-colored discharge coming from your vagina? If so you may have a yeast infection. It can be easily treated by prescribed medication. I advise talking to your doctor.

I used to work in Ob/gyn. Fishy is not normal. It is Bacterial Vaginosis and is easy to treat. Your doctor will give you an antibiotic called Metronidazole. Dont drink while taking it. If you do have trichomoniasis, the same antibiotic is used.

Guys LOVE the smell of a clean/healthy vagina. Definately get it checked if it is strong odor
