Why does my dog nip my hand or clothes?

I recently adopted a 3.5 year old labrador female. She someties whines and then she scratches on her blanket and then bites pieces of the blanket off. She also sometimes nibbles on my clothes or hand. Mostly when she is happy to see me. But the blanket thing I don’t know. She is not yet spayed. Or is she homesick for where she came from. There she was with other dogs all the time. I have another labrador and they get along. But they still have to get used to each other. I only had her since Friday.

I’d say that she may just be bored. labs need a lot of exercise to stay fit and happy. if they don’t get that then they become distructive. since she’s a rescue, I’d say that she’s still a bit uncomfortable. try taking her for an hour long walk or a 30 minute jog. keeping her tired means keep ing her quite and her balnkets in one piece.

Dogs paw and move their blankets around making a bed…some dogs are verbal about everything they do…she’s fine…she’s just talking to her bankie…ripping out a piece here and there, is no biggie.

Many dogs give “love bites”…those little nibbles when you first come home…They are sweet, I loved it when my dog is that happy to see me.

I would say, she’s probably lonely. Try and get her a bone or some cool squeaky toys to chew on. Also she might not be trained to not bite people or clothing, so look at giving her some lessons (I know they have puppy school, but I’m not sure about dogs school. aske your local vet.). I would also look at getting her sprayed, unless you want some puppies, because non-sprayed dogs have a tendancy to act up more.
