I used to go on long fasts all the time, but now even after a day my stomach aches a lot and I feel dizzy ! any suggestions why this might be? x
Dear lonely_girl,
fasts can often get dangerous before anyone
becomes aware of it, especially if they are not being well
monitored. Blood pressure can drop precipitously and dangerously.
Falls are not at all uncommon during fasts. People have been
known to lose consciousness for a variety of reasons. Dehydration
is often an issue, and can lead to a variety of problems.
Side effects of fasting due to the physiological changes taking place on the body include headaches, nausea, and muscle aches.
Fast are not recommended by leading physicians.
Sue...good luck
I don't know about the stomach aches...I only got/get them with constipation. the dizziness is obviously due to lack of food.
I'm guessing you used to fast a lot for long periods, but you haven't done that in a while and you're out of that routine/practice? I didn't used to get dizzy at all until I'd fasted for at least 3 days, but now it happens in the 1st day or 2! your body gets used to faster for longer times again.
Do you drink cranberry/PRUNE juice, mix and just be close to a toilet LOL. . .for the back-up it's all natural but if your not eating well theres nothing to poop. I do fast to a point and thats when I need to drop weight, I've also had to cleanse myself too and fasting helps me a lot. . . But I've learned a lot from my years. . .
you feel dizzy cause you haven't ate, try some OJ it has vitimin C and natural sugar it should help. . .Don't drink it super fast that might cause a side ache? Just sip and try some celery slices with lemon juice squeezed over them. . . hope this helps
I don't know but that happens to me too but to get rid of the dizzyness bend down on one knee and drink some water
