Why do I look young?

Whenever someone finds out my age (I’ll be 24 on the 10th June) they seem really surprised because they say I look a lot younger. When I go clubbing the bouncers let my friends in no dramas, but they scrutinise my I.D and often ask for another form of I.D like my bank card so they know I really AM that old. Even on this site I had a comment saying they thought I was a teen and sorry for the mistake lol.

It gets annoying, and no-one can tell me what it is that makes me look young.

Can anyone tell me: Do you think I look a lot younger than an almost 24 year old? and if so, What is it exactly that is doing it? Should I change something??

Answer #1

I get the same don’t worry I’m 20 and I get mistaken for being around 16…I can’t even walk into a casino without people asking for my ID…but it’s better than looking to old.

Answer #2

I was just more curious as to WHY I look young, I don’t really care myself, only at clubs cause they all look at me suspiciously lol. I know that when I’m OLD I will like it and I AM grateful :) Thanks for the advice so far :)

I thought it was looking OLD that pisses them off :D lolz

Women are crazy :D I have no idea why I love them so much :D lolz

I mean don’t all the women of the world just need to see a doctor?? :P

I get it all the time too im 19 but usually people think im a lot younger, like 16 I just take it as a compliment exept when one lady though I was 34! lol but what makes you look young to other people varies one person could say you look young because of your face another from the way you dress, ect

Answer #5

Yeah, it’s not why, it just is. It can be annoying, so just invent some clever sayings for those situations. I am not a clever sayings person but maybe:

“Oh, I look younger than I am because I’m attracted to hot guys like you!”

“I’m actually 69, do you believe in May-December romances?”

Answer #6

There is nothing you can really do. I have a similar problem, although I’m not at the age yet where anyone would scrutinize my ID or anything like that. I’m short and still have an ‘innocent’ face, it all contributes to looking younger.

Answer #7

There’s a lot of things that determine how we judge some one agewise. Most common: -The way you’re dressed. If you go out decked in Hollister, obviously you’re going to look like a teenager. -Hair. A “mature” haircut would be a semi-short, sophisticated style, which can do wonders for your age quota. -Your language. You come off younger if you’re using slang, cursing, have a softer voice, valley girl talk, etc. -“Baby face” “Chubby cheeks”. I wouldn’t consider surgery for this unless it REALLY bothers you, but often having a rounder, chubbier face can make people think you’re younger than they would if you had more prominent cheekbones.

I feel ya hun. I will be 25 in december. I have the same problem. I was recently told at a motherhood maternity store that they don’t sell clothes to “teenage statistics” mind you I am married and I have a almost 6 year old. I hate being carded nonstop. I have to show my drivers lisence, state id, and military id. It gets annoying but think of what we will look like at 40! If we look super young now we should still be looking young then. A secret blessing!
