Why did she leave me?

My girlfriend left me because she said she’s not sexually attracted to me anymore. I have always dated younger women from 2- 8 years younger, but this girl was 12 years younger than me. Lots of younger women like me, but why she left me is a mystery to me. I’m 38 and she is 26. She also said “you just wanted to be a happy couple” and I have these uyrges. and that “you might be too old for me”. What went wrong? Now she won’t even talk to me after 3 months. I need help.

If your girl told you that she’s not attracted to you anymore sexually and that you may be too old for her, then there are your answers. Sexual attraction means a lot to some people, sometimes it’s one of the key factors in a relationship. If it’s not there, it’s just not there. [Even things that were once can stop being.]

With the age thing, it seems like you guys just wanted different things. She’s young, so she may have not been ready to settle or she may not have been on your level of things. I hate making comments like the one I’m about to make, but with a 12 year age difference, there is room for a lot different goals, wants, needs and desires. Though age differences sometimes don’t matter, it could be better to date more in your age range (no more or less than 5 years difference).

In all, however, I think that you need to work on moving on. If it’s been three months, start focusing your time and energy towards yourself more instead of her. Go out, enjoy life. Stay single for a bit and meet new people. Don’t let this get you down. :)
