Why can't I pronouce properly after a tongue piercing?

Hello. Recently my tongue piercing had just healed. But not complelely heal. But when I talk to my friends, they say when I talked to them,I sound like I have short tongue. So that means I cant pronouce properly after my tongue piercing. What can I do to pronouce properly?I mean, without taking out the barbell.Or can I pronouce properly after it fully healed?

Answer #1

When I wear the standard length barbell,I sounds like having short tongue. But if I wear regular length,I still sound like short tongue..But better than the standard length..

Answer #2

do you still have the long barbell they put in your tongue when it was pierced? if so, after it’s healed, and the swelling is all gone, put a regular sized one in.

Answer #3

you have basically a piece of metal in your mouth, when it heals and you get used to it you’ll be able to talk just fine, its because your tounge will have to move a bit differently to pronouce words with the piercing, dont worry about it
