Why am I afraid to show my real friends my stories?

I like to write for fun, so I write want to-be-ish stories. I would post them on my blog, and A LOT of people loved them, but I showed the story to one of my ‘aqquaintances’ in real life, and she hated it, and told me it was corny. Ever since then, I wouldn’t show stories to my friends, but I have no problem posting them online. Now all of a sudden I don’t want to write anymore, because I don’t know what people really think. So how can I be more confident in my writing to the point where I can post it online or show it to anyone?

Don’t let anyone’s opinion get to the best of you. Okay, yeah sure whatever it’s their opinion, but still you wrote it. You felt comfy enough to write down what your imaginative mind is telling you to put on paper. And if that many people loved it, and an “aqquaintance” said she hated it, that obvisouly means she doesn’t know your writing style. You shouldn’t stop writing because one person hated it, lol. Just trust me, you’re a lot better off writing these stories then not. Who knows, maybe you’ll become a writer of some kind (:

If you love to write then that’s all that matters. Don’t let what other people think effect you. A lot of people loved them I’m sure they would be disappointed if you stopped. There’s always going to be those people who try to put you down but you have to forget about them and focus on the people who love your stories. If you want you can funmail me one or part of one I would love to read it.

hey.. im a fellow writer too. And I would just like to say that you should never EVER let someone elses opinion get you down and certainly not give you writers block.. keep writing no matter what.. and as for the person who had less than nice things to say about your work. Screw em. Like you said there were a ton of people who did like your work. There will always be critiques who are more offensive than helpful, so you just have to let all that useless stuff roll off your back and put yourself out there. You’ll be surprised by the positive feed back you get
