It is called "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" written by Bob Dylan, for the motion picture "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" and is performed in the scene where the Sheriff is gut shot and is dying.
..But Dylan's sounds sooo much better. Then again, I'm a sucker for anything by him. To be honest, I'm not much of a Guns and Roses girl.. haha
I thought it was Knoking on Heavens Door, but I could be wrong. Why don't you google both of them to see which one is right.
