Who from Big Brother listens in to cell phone calls?

Can Big Brother tap private cell phone calls and listen to private conversations? I know they can on land lines but wonder abt cell phones.

The government can tap telephone conversations only with a court order that allows them to do so.

Cell phones can be tapped. The likeliest way for the government to do so is to simply divert the call on the switching network of the provider, just as they do when they tap landline phones. It would certainly be possible, though not very practical, for a government agency to intercept a wireless signal.

If you are really worried about it, get a prepaid drop phone.
