it doesn’t have much to do with how long you’ve been here. Its mostly your answers, and your cooperation/kindness with others. :]

You need to have been here at least a month.
And you funmail editor. They review your answers, check for basic things like spelling, grammar, and then things like how expansive your answers are, how helpful they are, whether you know the rules and know the inner workings of the site.
