Where do hookers go?

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - ‘Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.’

So as long as you’re female, you can turn tricks and still make it to heaven?

I would have said that the “Kingdom of God” (or, “Kingdom of Heaven” in Matthew) was Jesus’ idea not Paul’s, but the point can be argued either way. And, in the end, it doesn’t matter whose idea it was. (Jesus preached first, but Paul’s were the first books written. So, the argument could be that Paul got the idea from Jesus … or, possibly, that the Gospel writers were influenced by concepts from Paul’s already-written texts.)

That being said, whether it was Jesus or Paul first teaching the concept, the “Kingdom of Heaven” is in the sense of “beginning here and now, continuing through eternity.”

It is also interesting that Jesus said (Matthew 21:31), speaking to the Pharisees (the church leaders of His day): “… I say … that the … harlots go into the Kingdom of God before you.” (Strong words for Jesus to say to a Preacher, huh?)

I don’t see that the question can be answered simply “yes” or “no” – because I don’t know that ALL hookers will go to hell or, conversely, that ALL hookers will go to Heaven. Jesus seemed to teach (see Matthew chapter 25) that the eternal destination is determined by the condition of the heart. I have no doubt there will be many former-hookers in Heaven, including Mary Magdalene.

The Kingdom of God is Righteousness, peace and joy. When you have right standing with God, you begin to have peace and when you have peace with yourself Joy comes.

to go to hell is one thing and to inherit god’s kingdom is another. when the Bible talks about the kingdom of god its meaning to live the fullness of his power and to bring salvation and good news to others. jesus used to said: “the kingdom of god is within you” meaning that salvation and blessings are within you; so when the bibles says that sinners will not inherit god’s kingdom, is referring that sinners will not see gods blessings, not that they will not enter heaven. so I disagree that people are going to hell.

It’s amazing that modern Christians have no clue as to what Paul meant by the ‘kingdom of god’. It isn’t a place you go when you die. It’s a state of being in the here and now.
