Where can I find a fun upbeat job that wont bring me down?

Well Im still young..21..and I’ve been so stressed lately from my job. Obviously since I dont have a degree or anything yet and im still young I havent really had a steady serious job, just 5 or 6 different retail jobs and some babysitting on the side..you know the usual. Well I am working in a store now as a supervisor. It makes me hate life! everyone is always so stressed from customers, not doing enough business, etc. all of my co-workers are up tight and no fun. I find it to be this way at every retail job I’ve ever had. I have a fun outgoing and energetic personality and I want to be able to show it! and be myself! does anyone have a really fun job that makes them happy every day? and dont tell me work is not suppose to be fun cause I know its possible!!! =)

Hello SB,

I have never worked for anyone in my life and started my own company at the age of 17. I was able to retire at a very early age a very wealthy man. So much so that my wife, 5 children and my grandchildren will never have any money worries. I now devote my time to helping as many people I can do the same. It’s really very easy. If you would like to talk just email me I a always available.

I have had many stressful jobs, but I’ve not had any where there was no “fun”. And work is not fun all the time, but there is absolutely no reason some lightheartedness can’t be brought into the workplace. You, especially as a supervisor can help change the climate you work in. Make it fun. Go out after work, have dinner, drinks and laugh it up. I have found that the camaraderie outside of work can dramatically change the atmosphere of the job.

Some “bosses” have a difficult time associating with employees outside of work and maintaining their position in the office. It can be handled by anyone where you are a person outside of work, and the “boss” person on the job.

But make your job fun, and when served nothing but lemons, make lemonade.

You may be good working with an events company. Other than the crazy stress of getting things together and organizing, seeing the actual event and the public interacting with your project is rewarding and fun. And if your company is the low budget kind, the will want to use you for everything, even including being an emcee for an event - it’s fun. Plus, you get all this free stuff from sponsors. I’ve been there, done that.

Retail always stressed me out(especially during the holidays). Find a Job with a marketing company (thats what I did) it requires not degree you do not work weekends, hoildays off (and some companies do paid holiday) . My job Title is a “retail merchandiser” I still interact with people and basically make my own hours. I get paid to drive too :). This job may not be for you. I suggest you take your time and look around. Sometimes you get lucky and find an awesome job. Try not to let your job stress you out.

I worked retail for a while and I hated it, especially during christmas time.

I have a small warehouseboy job at an autoelectrical company that is local. It is waaay better there (not perfect or anything) we have longer breaks (10-15 mins break at supermarket, half hour lunch, at new job 30 mins breaks and 1 hour lunch). Also because it is such a small business, it took me ages to find a small business that needed someone, but wheen I did I retty much secured the job because not many people go for it.
