Answer #2

This is an interesting question. I’m using Windows Vista, and my system automatically deletes temporary files. However, a few seem to hang around. It’s possible to delete these manually.

On Windows XP, the cache is usually located at %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files (where %USERPROFILE% is an environment variable pointing to the root directory of the logged-in user’s user profile).

One of the common complaints about Windows as compared to other operating systems is there are many areas were the user has little or no control (closed format as opposed to open format)

I’m not in a hurry to buy Windows 7.
