i can play piano but i'm limited to visually seeing someone playing and coping the notes they play. i want to expand and be able to teach myself more and read music.
First you have to find out which way you learn by listening,getting hands on or by seeing. An easy way to find out which way you learn is by choosing a random song and see which way you memorize the lyrics best-by hearing the song,by singing the song or by reading the lyrics. Then apply this to your learning for example if learn by hearing have some read notes to you and teachingyou how to do it.If you learn by seeing make written notes and study those. If you learnby getting hands on then get on the piano and get to it. Hope this helped!:D P.S This also works for studying just about anything
Learning from scratch can be a difficult way to do this. Music schools like the Melbourne School of Music [where I learned reading chords and playing instruments] have teachers who are excellent in teaching how to read piano music through notes and chords.
thank you =) but have no one actually teaching me i usually get on youtube or my keyboard has 100 built in songs. also noone i know is even interested in it. but i will try some of the suggestion you gave.
thank you so much i found a site and it showed me something like lines and spaces and like phrase to remember for each when reading a sheet of music. but i defiantly would appreciate it if you can =)
i just need to know what the notes are or mean on the page of music ya know maybe a guide like a music note and what it stands for etc.
I practice reading the notes by just practicing a lot. How long have you been playing?
