Now hes single and he knows I like him and he likes me back

I have a friend whos been there through everything since I met him 2 years ago. I’ve always liked him but hes had girl friends so we just became close. Now hes single and he knows I like him and he likes me back, but hes says he will never date me cause he doesnt want to ruin are friendship I told him how much he ment an if we dated and broke up id never leave him as a friend cause he means a lot we hang all the time an he flirts with me like no other I ont know what to do or if he really only wants to sleep with me and doesnt like me like that. An thats why he doesnt wanna date I have no clue how to deal cause I’ve been through a lot and done many bad things. Any advice will help.

ya but I rather have the chance then just go on wondering what if cause hes the nicest and has been there through every hard time he talks to me all hours of the night when I need to talk even if hes tired I just want the chance cause hanging around him just makes me want him more and it seems like if I got a chance an we didnt last id get over it an at least no nothing worked out but right now all I wonder is what if…and maybe hes not ready for a relationship yet bc his ex really hurt him an they havent been broken up long but I told him id wait an dont wanna push him into it but I just not sure what he wants???

urm I think you should stay friends this happened to me once but I was the guy lol I went out with her he broke up took us 6 months to be mates again but you could if you wanted I just don’t recommend it it gets you all upset and that
