What should I say?

A boy in my tutor who sits next to me asked me out. I like him, I like his personality, he looks quite nice, I mainly going for personality. he asked me out last week, I don’t know what to say still. I don’t know if he really meant it, if he still fancies me PLUS my nan died 2 days ago so I don’t really know what I should say. I do feel like a need a boy to keep me company and cheer me up ( he did cheer me up in tutor lol). Apart from tutor he not in any of my classes; we are both clever which is a plus. My mum likes the sound of him I think, my best friend doesn’t think he is the “one” but she said that apart from that he sounds alright. Even if he isnt the “one” it doesn’t mean I cant say yes does it? Please help. If I can, I will post more information later sometime.
