What should I do to my curly brown hair, length between shoulders?

Hey guys! So, I have long, brown curly hair and I really would like bangs, but I’m scared that it would mess up my hair forever…is there any way to get them without ending up looking retarded?

Also, I would like to put streaks in my hair because I’m looking to have a rocker style going on…but what colors would look good with brown curly hair?
