What should I do for my seventeenth birthday party?

This May I’m turning 17 (I know its not for a while but I like planning ahead), and I want to do something great to make up for my 16th birthday party, which was completely awkward and nobody enjoyed. I wanted to invite maybe about 8 girls. The problem I always have is that it has to be supervised, and I live in a small town, so we have NOWHERE to go besides my house. Someone once suggested renting a hall and having a dance, but my town’s community centre won’t rent out to teens, in fear of drugs and alcohol (even though my group of friends isn’t into that). So I’m completely stuck, I want to have something more than just watching movies with friends, cause everyone always seems bored at my parties. I have the backyard and my basement, which are both average sized, and we also have a park nearby. The problem with being outside though is that every year on my birthday it usually rains, so I would also need a backup plan. Thank you!! :)

with about 8 people, you could have a sort of little themed get together haha! I dunno, I’m sort of obsessed with alice in wonderland so let’s use that as an example … it could be fancy dress, you could do out the basement like wonderland + have loud music and dance about a bit, truth or dare, have a mad hatter’s tea party etc.

or if you’re into ghosts and spooky stuff, you could hold a seance in the basement and base the night on ghost hunting in the park and your basment and then watching horrors and things haha.

you could do those with any sort of theme really, I know those examples were really quite rubbish but you get the gist (:
