  I never heard of a diet called the green tea diet. Recently some research indicates that green tea may raise your metabolism slightyl (4%) which may help dieters loose more weight. The anti-oxitants and phytochemicals in green tea are also thought to have other health benefits.

  Mate-tea (which is not really from the tea-plant) contains a substance which helps agains hunger. Other teas may simply work because the water keeps you from getting hungry (for a short time, at least).
