What's good about M.A.C cosmetics?

Magazines and people are always raving about how good this brand of makeup is, but what are their top products that are really good, and is it just because they come in lots of colours, or are they made with good ingredients?

Using MAC cosmetics has in many ways become some what of a ‘trend’. They are a well known brand, which a lot of make-up artists and gurus swear by and it has therefore gotten a lot of credibility. I for one am not too crazy about their foundation, but their studio sculpt concealer is excellent! The best thing from MAC however, I find to be their eyeproducts, which are extremely pigmented and comes in a bunch of different colours and finishes. But you shouldn’t buy products from them simply because they are ‘MAC Products’, cause you can get a lot of excellent cheaper products which are just as good.

so if I were to get formal makeup (ie: being photographed not wanting metallic eyes in photos) I should probably buy their eye products.. hmm. thanks!

I would think its because they have a lot of matte colours and also because there well known and expensive
