Answer #1

This is just a quick summery of what mormons believe. If you woud like to know more or have specific questions feel free to fun mail me or check out Mormon.org.

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be apunished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

jesus I hate how people think of most Mormons as “cults” theres a difference let me break it down for the u FLDS= those are the creeps who have like a million wives and stay in a desserted town with no technology. you might see them wearing pioneer clothes and long a** braids, thats them. there screwed up and they suck, LDS= those are the Mormons who are goody goody people who go to church and do goodly things, no fornication, drugs, follow the commandments. they also wear normal clothing, just more modest than everyone else. THERE NOT THE SAME THING. how do I know this info, IM MORMON. but trust me its no tea party if I could take it back I would lol, so now ya know, Mormonism kinda sucks

Well advocate thanks for getting closer than the previous posts, but I would like correct you on the messiah thing. Joseph Smith did translate the Book of Mormon, an ancient record of a people that came from Jerusalem and lived in the americas many years ago. We believe that he was a prophet just like moses or noah in biblical times, but he is not our Messiah. The Messiah is Jesus Christ and we worship Him and no other God. But again thank you for correcting much of the ‘propoganda’ that was previously posted!

Don’t feed this kid propaganda!

Don’t be silly. Mormon is simply a religion where they believe in Jesus, and God just like every other Christian religion.

What’s different is that their book of study is called the Book of Mormon, which was supposedly transcribed by their mesiah (pretty much like “their Jesus” ) named Joseph Smith. It’s very similar to any other christian religion, but they follow the Book of Mormon along with the bible (but they do favor the B.O.M)

Anyway, the book of mormon is filled with scriptures about leading a healthy, respectable, and spiritual life. Doing so is by leading the “mormon” life, and they have a lot of weird rules and regulations to follow. If you really want to understand what they believe, pick yourself up a copy and read it.

Just try not to fall asleep while doing so, cause I personally believe it’s a bunch of B.S.
