What must I do to get over this guy?

Hi Everybody! At the end of the summer I started dating this guy who I liked all summer! I was so happy the boy I was in love with liked me back! Well we go to different schools and were at driving age so we could see each other well we both got caught up with school so we both decided to break up. I tried to stay friends with him but everytime we talked he was a jerk. Ohkay so at the start of Janurary he texted me asking me if I missed this summer and blah blah anyway we started talking about dating and I was single so it all was working out. One night we were talking and he said that he thought he loved me and I said don’t say that cause what if you don’t mean it. Well the next day I texted like I normally did and he was like I’ve been thinking.. And he told me he didn’t want to talk to me anymore he needed to focus on his band. I’ve been doing well by getting over I’m dating this guy who is great. But friday I ran into Jay’s best friend (the guy who broke my heart) and we talked and he didn’t relaize who I was well I found out that the ‘band’ wasn’t really a band! :( how do I get over this guy?
