What keeps the eyes in the socket?

I was wondering how the eye stays in the socket? Is it connected to something thats connected to something else? Random but just curious:)

Answer #1

many people don’t realize this but the eyes are surrounded by muscles which not only hold them in the socket they also make the eyes look around

Answer #2

Yes, the muscle part is too, but also helpful is the Optic Nerve. This connects the eye to the brain and helps transmit visuals to your brain. Also keeps the eye connected to our heads inside :) (here’s a diagram)
