What is your opinion on tattoos?

I was just wondering what people’s opinions on tattoos are. Part of me likes them, they’re body art and I find them beautiful, but at the same time it’s like, well, if you like that image so much get it put on a shirt and wear when you want to. Why would you ever want an image or words permanently on your body? I can decide how I feel. Aha So what is your opinion?

I am 26 years old and I have 8 tattoos so far. I like all of my tattoos and they each mean something special to me. I have one of a rose and dove on my shoulder blade, a playboy bunny on my ankle(don’t know why), my sons initials on my right wrist, my daughters on my left wrist, my husbands name on my upper arm, my name on my lower back, a flower tribal on my lower back and my little brother initials. The next one that I plan on getting is a pebbles and bambam somewhere because thats’ my kids nick names. My son likes to hit things with sticks and my daughter has the red hair. I really think that a tattoo should be something that you really like because you are going to have it the rest of your life, unless you pay to have it removed. So when you are trying to decide what to get, think about it first and make sure that it is something that you like and can live with the rest of your life.

I personally think, tattoos are something that last forever, unless you want to pay a lot of money to get it removed. (thats not my answer yet hehe) But, I think they are good, and really pretty, but I don’t think that people should get them just because. I think they should have a really good meaning for them. :]

I think tattoos are awesome they express someone thoughts and fellings and if you dont want people 2 c them DONT GET ONE I really like them there a work of art all by themselves

Answer #4

I love them.

its like art, I love it. as long as they mean something. random stuff like hearts, flowers, butterflies etc have never appealed to me. unless they have a reason, but there are so many people that get them done just so that they can have a tattoo then regret it 3 years later lol.

Answer #6

I love tattoos as long as you don’t get a shitty one and it means something. Don’t get one where you will regret it. Try like a lowwer back one.or somewhere you can cover up.

Answer #7

I hate them personally.Sorry but…you asked!Lol!I want a belly button pericing but tattoos?NOPE!Sorry. Not going to happen!

Answer #8

My mom thinks ther full of disease but I’ve always wanted one on my wrist and ankle I like them but people say they hurt a lot

Answer #9

I have mixed emotions on tattoos. I love the idea of ‘personalizing’ your body and making it custom and unique, but I don’t like everyone’s tattoos and I don’t have to. They don’t have to like mine. I found a quote once that I really liked about tattoos. ‘The tattoo is the mark of the soul. It can act as a window through which we can see inside or it can be a shield to protect us from those who cannot see past the surface.’

Answer #10

I’m not big on tattoos. I mean I might get one if I ever found something I wanted permanently imprinted on my skin, but just to get one for the sake of getting one never appealed to me.

As for tattoos on other people, if they are tastefully done and smaller they can be kinda cool. Never liked it when people tattoo their whole arm or something like that.

Also, I have never been a fan of tattoos people get because they are popular. Like girls that get a butterfly tattoo because is the thing to do, or people with an Japanese or Chinese character always just looked like you where going with the crowd, not expressing yourself.

Answer #11

I think tattoos can be nice . I would probably never get one though because when you get older the tattoo will start looking more different and a little more weird looking then I’d regret it. I think it’s stupid if someone gets a tattoo of their child’s name or their lover’s name. For some reason I find that really dumb. So my opinion about it is mixed because I’ve seen guys who look hot with tattoos so it really just depends for me.

A tattoo isn’t meant to be a picture that you get to look at all the time. It’s a representation of a feeling or, like plastic surgery, an effort to make your body look better – tougher, more beautiful, more you, what have you. A shirt is fine for displaying art or humor or a message, but it’s no more a part of you than a bumper sticker is part of a car. If you REALLY want to personalize that car, you have to bring it to a body shop and break out the blowtorches.

My tat doesn’t look like anything special or is even particularly unique, but what it represents is as deeply personal to me as my own skin.
