What is so wrong with doing your own nose piercings at home?

Whar is so wrong with doing your own nose piercings at home? I did mine on my own, with all of the supplies santized, and I also did not use a earing gun, just a nose ring.

Answer #1

I pierced my septum myself. Jsut make sure it’s clean. Use contact or ear piercing solution to clean and keep moist.

Clean often :)

Take about 2-3 weeks to heal.

you can use a gun on your nose its not a good idea thought because your cartilage can shatter but the reason you can use it on your ear lobs is because there is no cartilage in your ear lobe… a professional does the saaame thing you are. they just use properly sterilized needles and equipment, not to mention charge you like 50$ for getting something that takes barely 5 minutes to do. I do all my piercings myself and all my friends piercings myself, and guess what, not one has been infected I use professional needles you can buy them online. as long as you know what your doing and properly clean all your equipment you can do piercings yourself.

Answer #3

I got my nose pierced with a gun an it never hurt 1 bit, it was over so fast if you do it urself it wil hurt more because you bottle out an you keep stopin an startin not only thay it can get really infected my mate pierced her own bely button an it got so badly infected!

Answer #4

… you’re much better off going to a professional. aside from the fact that they know what they are doing, they also have the proper equipment. they’ve pierces hundreds of other people before, and they’re properly trained. why wouldn’t you want to go to a professional?

the piercing is on your face, right? oh your nose. now what happens if you messed up and it got totally infected leaving a giant scar on your face, how would you feel then about doing it yourself?

Answer #5

Well..actually I did mine by myself, not wrong happened, and it wouldn’t leave a giant scar on your face..there isn’t anyway..its a needle. I’ve had mine for a few years..nothings wrong..just make sure to twist it, other wise, a professional peircest told me that it could get stuck.

Answer #6

Well if you dont know what your doing then you could pierce something that will harm you later, like a nerve ending, etc. Second, even if the needle is sterile, any piercing can become infected if not taken care of immediately and given the right guidance and the follow up after you pierced it. Piercing yourself is not a terrible thing, but going to a professional would be far less risky.

Answer #7

nothin but you way dumb fa aksin

Answer #8

I heard using a gun can shatter the cardiledge (spelling?). But I got my ears pierced with a gun and was fine.

Answer #9

well it might not be good because it could still have germs on it an it is better to us a gun but you can do what you want to

Answer #10

actually it’s not better to use a gun. lol. that’s how I got mine done and it hurt like hell. in most piercing shops they no longer use a gun to pierce your nose, now they just use a surgical needle. but honestly I don’t find anything wrong with piercing things yourself as long as you know the precautions and you know what you’re doing. because essentially you’re going to be doing the same thing that the pros do, making a hole in your body. it’s a hole, it’ll heal the same way as long as you take good care of it.

Answer #11

you can hit some kind of nerve or something.
