Why does the number of members change so much?
Has anyone else noticed that the number of funadvice members seems to increase and decrease drastically in a matter of minutes? Is that count actually correct?
An admin may have a better answer or actual numbers for you, but I know the member count changes because of the constant changes in memberships. Underage users, people spamming or bullying other members, etc get deleted and sometimes banned, therefore membership would decrease as those users as discovered. Membership increases all the time as new members join. The count is always changing and may or may not be correct at all times.
To add to that: we only update it every few hours, otherwise, the site would take longer to load.
