What is it from? And is it odd to have one there?

Ok, well I have a bruise that is on the joint that connects my big toe to my foot (I think its called the ball of your foot.) The bruise is also on the top of my foot. Its a purplish color and hurts when I move my foot. I am a runner but I noticed the bruise today and I havent ran in 5 days. I was wondering, what could the bruise be from? because I’ve never had a bruise on my foot before that was like this. And is that a weird/odd place to have a bruise? Thanks ahead of time for answering!

I had a really dark bruise in the same area that extended up to the tip of my toe that was a really dark purple. I got it from breaking my toe after a failed break dancing move. It hurt to walk on for about a week and slowly started getting better. The actual dark color didnt come for about 2 days though.

If you’re a runner it may not be broken but instead you had some vessels pop due to extensive stress on the vessels. Basically think of it as getting punched hard… by the ground. Its completely normal for bruising to take a few if not several days to occur since is basically the color of your blood cells deoxidizing.

Not much you can do besides avoiding walking on it for a little.

Did you stub your toe?
