Is college like highschool?

Answer #1

I’m in college and it’s so much different then High school. The classes are much bigger and everyone at the college I attend is more mature and doesn’t do drama. You get to be more independent and make choices for yourself. In my college, you get an adviser to help you choose classes but, again, it’s really not like High School. You don’t hear bells ringing when you’re either getting ready to start classes or when you’re about to get out. You manage time on your own. The professors do take attendance but, they aren’t going to be like, why were you late? It’s the student’s responsebility to get to classes. The difference is, if you don’t feel comfortable in a certain class, you need to see the adviser. Another difference, you have to buy your classes and your books too. Unless you’re on financial aid like me. You’re pretty much responsible for your own needs for college. The assignments are allot more advanced and you have to write really long papers too. Then, exams, that’s stressful. People at college seem to treat you like everyone else. That’s where that happens at my college anyway. So, I’d say, college is different then high school in allot of ways.

Not really similar to high school. Like moe says, the students are much more mature and don’t experience drama. In where, high school, there are so many people crawling with the desire for attention and all that baloney. :D College should have more freedom too in some ways, some ways not.

no! everybody is much more mature, pretty much all of them are there to accomplish something (so drama doesn’t really matter anymore) and you have to figure out a lot of things on your own… at least that’s what happens for me =)

I am a freshman in college this year, it is my 6th week being here. In my opinion college is like high school in some ways but pretty different in others. At my college everyone is assigned and adviser that they can meet with to help choose classes. The classes are generally a lot bigger and they are mostly just lecture classes. For example in my chemistry lecture class there are 300 people. The overall environment is different also, you feel more independent since you’re out on your own. You have to learn to manage your time and make good decisions(your parents aren’t here to help you or tell you that’s not a good idea). So yes college is pretty different than high school, but it is very fun and you get used to it. :)
