What does "thy mother bittith thee" mean?

I am confused by this “historical quote”- “…when thou goest home and crawleth into thy kennel, I pray thee, thy mother bittith thee!!”- when you go home and crawl into your dog house, I’m asking you your mother… WHAT? I am completely lost :(

Answer #1

Or it could be a corruption of the word ‘biddeth’ as in, ‘your mother tells you’ which would mean, in context, ‘please go home to your kennel. your mother is asking you.’

Answer #2

thank you both. That is what I thought, but it seemed a little too easy :)) thanks a million ;)

Answer #3

I hope your mother bites you, basically.

Answer #4

thy mother bitteth thee roughly means “your mother bit you”
