What does it mean when my piercing is pusing ?

  • I just got my navel pierced a week ago today. Today I just realized that there was some white pus comming from it - what does that mean ? I know it may be infected, but it doesn’t look it.

If the puss is white then that’s a good sign. It just means that it’s healing.

If either; it’s sore, the skin around it is red and/or itching, and the puss has a yellowish or greenish tint to in then thats signs of infection.

When I got any of the 5 navel piercings I’ve had to date, theres been white puss starting from about 1 week - 1 month after getting it, and it lasted till about a month before it was completely healed.

If at any point theres white puss, but it’s sore and the skin seems like it’s getting thinner then take it out straight away, cause thats just a sign that it’s starting to reject.

Uhm I don’t know how your cleaning it, but no alcohol, use an anti-bacterial or anti-microbial soap to wash it 2-3times a day, 5-10min epson salt soaks for 2-3times a day.

Answer #2

You need to wash it with dial soap until pus stops comming out of it. do not us and antibiotic, achol, or peroxcide becuase it’s bad for piercings.

Answer #3

Yeah it’s infected. Just wash it the best you can. As said any disinfectant will make it heal slower.

Answer #4
