Because surely purging means making yourself sick But anorexic is like Not eating food the proper way
Im confused and someone asked me what it meant So yeah Can someone tell me ?

I used to be bulimic, I just got diagnosed with anorexia/ purging by my doctors: this is weird but it's basically that you have a mentality that you do not want to eat, and push it off till as late as possible so that you do not have to take in any calories throughout the day so that you MAY eat dinner and not feel guilty. This has backfired on me. In my case, I only drink hot liquids (try!) during the day. Then, when dinner rolls around, because I am 17 and still eat with my family, they want me to eat. I try and try not to eat, but if and when I do, I'll eat maybe 1 little piece of chicken, or maybe 1/2 of a dinner of what a normal person would eat. Then, I feel guilty, just as if I had truly "binged", and I go throw it up. I'm trying to recover. If you asked that question because you want to do this, please don't. I didn't believe this 2 years ago, but it truly is hell.
tell me about it. why would one want to know such a ridiculous question, the question in itself is self explanitory. its a vile, disgusting habit and rather much like a drug, once you do it a few times your mind set alters and you cant stop, so dont do it!! plus its leads to an electrolyte imbalance which is potentially life threatening

it usually means that whenever they do eat...even tiny amounts...they throw it up. although "purging" can mean any form of "getting rid" of the food. which also covers laxatives, enemas, diuretics, over-excercise, drugs/pills.
It means some one who doesn't eat most of the time, but sometimes gives into eating, and when they do, they throw everything back up, hence "purging anorexic"
yeah, it's eating rarely ever-almost to the point of anorexia-then when they do eat, they throw up. sort of a bulimia/anorexia combination.
just so you know purging means getting rid of unwanted things but close enough.
