What does a cavity in a back tooth look like?
If it's really bad, it will look like a small hole in your tooth. If it's a minor cavity, you won't really be able to 'see' it, or if it's between the teeth, etc. It'll show as a spot on an x-ray which the dentists will usually show you before doing any work on the teeth to prove that yes, there is a cavity and no, they're not drilling you just to charge you extra money etc.
