What do I do about my ex-fiance?

I have been knowing this guy for 16 years. We finally decided to be together. Well, he broke up with me and now do not want to talk to me. His mother still talks to me and she’s nice, but I dont want to continue having a relationship with his mother. I love this man very much and I know he loves me but, he has never had a girl be nice to him and he didn’t know how to take it so he broke up with me..I have caught him in a few lies but overall he was a good guy. We even got each other names tattoo on out wrist. How do I get over someone that I love so much. How do I stop thinking about him. I want closure in my life with him how do I do that..
