What do horses need?

Ok im getting a horse soon but what do I need???

Answer #1

a large amount of land to live on that has lots of grass, not a backyard if you dont have a large amount of land dont get a horse because you cant provide for it a stable to live in (which you need to reguarly clean out when it poos) food like hay and salt lick lots of money to buy food, a stable, vet bills, horse shoes and other items money to buy a saddle other gear and safe riding gear if you plan to ride it lots of patience and responsiblity, because a horse is a big responsibility. you cant just leave it there, you have to clean it, feed it, ect very often this is something you need to learn about BEFORE you get a horse though you should study how to care for one and what it needs before you get one that way you can decide if its too muchwork for you so do more research and look at as many websites and books about horse care as you can heres one to get you started http://www.acreageequines.com/HorseCare/index.html

Answer #2

Google it. Make sure you do your research well. No animal should be adopted before the owner completely understands the responsibilities they are taken on. Caring for an animal can be completely rewarding and totally worth it, just make sure you are able to care for your pet completely and horses can be expensive. Good luck!

Answer #3

I assume you have a place to keep it already…that would be the number one requirement. Hay is expensive, so a couple of tons of hay on hand (if you live where there are seasons…winter isn’t a good time for pasture)…A halter and a lead…unless you’re at a stable, I don’t suggest a blanket for cold. They do far better using what mother nature has given them to keep warm.

Unless you live in a warm climate, or are a hardcore rider, you can hold off on saddles and other tack until spring…

A Vet appointment for a health check would be a good idea, too.

Then there s my mini who gets turned out and pulls the cart every day. And the foals they are shown so they get messed with too..every day

Answer #6

If you are planning to get a horse soon you must give attention on following given tips:

• Bedding Solution: Try to find a perfect bedding solution.

• Requirement: what is your major requirement you want to fulfill with matting solution? The horse mats can be used as bedding which is not only comforting but provides relaxing warmth to your animal. Apart from this, the rubber stable mats for sale support proper drainage in the shed as well.

• Size and space: while buying the stable matting, be sure of the size and space of the shed as well. The mats should fit properly, without leaving any crevices or gaps in between.

• Material: the material should be long lasting since you are going to invest in it. Check the material of the rubber matting prior to buy, to ensure it is sturdy and durable.
