What Defines A Girlfriend As Opposed To A Hook-Up?

So since the beginning of this year, I have hooked up with various guys (at different times) and while it’s been fun, I am now feeling like I’d rather get into a relationship instead. Only thing is, is that the boys I have liked and hooked up with always seem to become jerks sooner or later, losing boyfriend potential in the process haha. That’s why I was wondering: is there an unwritten law somewhere that states that girls you hook up with will rarely, if ever, become something more? Does that mean I shouldn’t give in to doing anything physical (making out, etc.) with someone I truely like until an interest is expressed to take it to the next level? Any advice would help me out here guys! : ) Thanks as always.

hmm. that’s kinda hard. I mean what defines an actual relationship is being committed to each other and no one else. both on an emotional and physical level.

as far as doing stuff with them, I’d get closer on an emotional level before I moved forward to that… just to make sure they were in it for the right reasons. good luck! :)
