What color do you suggest I dye my hair?

My natural hair color is light brown. I want to dye it a different color. is there any way I can dye it without bleaching it? and what color should I dye it?

Answer #1

=) hi! Well if you choose a color darker then your natural shade, then you can skip the bleaching! I guess first thing to do when choosing a new hair color is:

A) Consider your Skin Tone.

If you have a pink skin tone you should choose from platinium blonde, ash
blondes, and cool browns. A rich red would probably suite you. You should
             not go black.
If you have very pale skin tone, go with strawberry blonde, golden browns, or
aubern browns. You can pull of black.
If you have a more darker tan color skin tone, choose a red thats very dark,
like black cherry, or dark browns w/ carmel highlights. Or black I guess if it
looks like it could be your natural color.

B) Consider you Personality.

If you're very girly and/or you dont mind some people making note your a blonde
(lol, those stupid blonde jokes) when you mess up on somthing, then this
color is probably for you!! =)
If you want a color that represents vibrancy and daring and (definitely) rarity
           red's a good color to choose =)
If you want a shade that is always taken seriously, can be a very rich or
calming shade(depending on what tone of brown of course) you should
get brown!! =) It's always a good middle color, not to dark, not to light X)
If you want to look more native, many people with darker skin look good
with black hair. On the other hand, if you have very light skin, you can
always choose black if you're into the scene or emo look. =)

C) Consider the Upkeep.

Going BLONDE can be very damaging to your hair because you keep
taking the pigments out, its thus very dehighdrating. Upkeep requires
highlights about every 4-6 weeks to keep the roots hidden. Make sure
to use leave in contditioners or hot oil treatments or highdrating
shampoos and conditioners to keep hair healthy.
BROWN is probably the easiest to take care of, it mainly needs the
4-6 week root touch-up like any other color would.
RED usually needs the whole thing to be redyed and redyed. Why?
because the pigments that make hair look red are smaller then other
colors, and get washed out of your hair very easily everytime you take
a shower(especially one with hot water). Point is, red fades.
BLACK hair is similarily like brown, the root touch-up is needed. The
problem with black is, its difficult to get out if you leave it in for long!!!
Bleach or Stripping is needed because you cant dye over black( it
             won't show up) =/

Oh, lol, and if you want an unatural shade,(pink, purple, blue etc.)
a good bleaching is in need first if you want a very vibrant color.
Otherwise you can just get a boxcolor from a drugstore like
             Walgreens. XD

Hope I’ve Helped You!!! =D

Hm.. try maybe like a medium or light reddish brown. The color will turn out like chocolate bar brown with hints of red. Or it will be more of a cherry brown color

Answer #3

you could go as lil darker?

Answer #4

I would say r. ever since i was a little girl i wanted red hair (my hair is naturally light brown) so one day in 7th grade I just asked my mom if I could and she was like “Yeah, sure.” The first time we used a dye more orangey than I had wanted, so it took some getting used to. Now I dye my hair red in like Oct. or Nov. every year then in Mar or April let it fade back to dirty blonde using Sun-In stuff. During the summer im dirty blone w/ crazy color highlights. Red hair always stands out…I’m in lots of shows and I’m always reconized(: RED ALL THE WAY(:
