What are you supposed to say when you open a present?
Someone gives you a present. You open it. There’s only so many times you can say ‘OMG I love it!! Thankyou thankyou’ or ‘WOW, you shouldn’t have!’
What else is there?
I agree, too many thank you’s and people will pick up the fakeness. I sent christmas with 14 other people, got TONS of presents. more often than not, I was sayng ‘thank you (insert name here) I love it, it’s wonderful’ and if the present is something you don’t like (like a DVD you already have :P) then you realy start laying it on, but don’t be too obvious
If you go too overboard with the thankyous and ‘I love it’ its can seem fake. A thankyou, followed by a smile/hug (whatever is appropriate) is find. If you really do like it, say something specific like ‘I was wanting to buy this myself’ or ‘I was hoping someone would get me this!’ You don’t have to go over the top, just be gracious & grateful & polite.
