What are the risks of getting pregnant 3 months after childbirth?

I just had my son 3 months ago. My husband and I want another baby but we were planning on waiting for a year or so to try to get pregnant again. Anyways I just found out yesterday that im pregnant again. My previous pregnancy was normal and healthy. No problems. I am worried about being pregnant again so soon after the birth of my first child. Are there any risks I should be aware of?

I also suggest asking your doctor. My brother and I have a 11 month difference between us, and I was my mothers easiest and healthiest pregnancy.

Your Dr. will tell you what risks might be present. There are MANY children in the world with siblings 1 year apart…

My cousins are 7 months apart (yes, 7). My aunt ended up pregnant immediately after her first child was born, and her second was a preemie.

The risk? She wasn’t able to complete the full term pregnancy and she didn’t have time to get rid of her pregnancy weight from the first child, so…needless to say, she is still obese over 20 years later.

However, that doesn’t mean it will happen to you…your doctor may want to keep a closer eye on you this time.
