What are the causes of epilepsy?

I’ve been epileptic since 2005 and I have a medical treatment for it,the only thing that I neeed to know what are the causes of this?but now I’ve also developed something that I’m not sure if it has something to do with it and that is my memory.my memory is so poor especially the with the names of people,the other thing is when I’m speaking sometimes I dont finish conservation or what I was saying I just stop maybe for 2 minutes not moving and when I come back I won’t even know what I was saying until somebody reminds me.does anyone have any idea what’s this help me?

I think this is a common symptom in epileptic’s. One time a epileptic girl I knew was telling me about this great camping place and I asked her how to get there and she said she cant remember because she’s epileptic.

The cause of epilepsy is an electrical mis-firing in the brain (But what makes some peoples brains do that … ?) And Blerggher is right. Time-loss is a common symptom. You need to talk to your doctor about what you are experiencing and what you may experience in the future. If your parents or doctor are trying to shield you from this info because of a sense of trying to protect you, explain to them that you need to know, or you won’t be prepared to face and accept your life.
