What are some good books about the Revolution?

Could you narrow it down at bit? What revolution are you talking about?

Have you read many biographies of the ‘’founding fathers’’? They can often give a great deal more insight into what was going on at the time than simply reading about dates of battles and such.

For example, if you only read about the events, you would think England was cruelly oppressing the colonies and turning a deaf ear to the colonists’ cries of protest, but they had no idea the colonists were even unhappy until they started flinging tea into the water. That’s because Ben Franklin, the liason to Britain, was too busy protecting his own interests to tell the Crown about any rumblings he might have heard.

A Ben Franklin or John Adams bio really sheds a lot of light on how the United States was forged out of the selfishness and greed of a few rich white men, not the desire for freedom.
