are emos smart?

if you wanted to be emo. Do you have to be smart?

Because some words I don’t understand. and whenever I listen to Emo bands, some of the words I don’t understand. so naturally I feel stupid ¬¬. But yeah do they have to be smart?

First off, you cant WANT to be emo. Emo started off as a type of music and now people use to describe a lot of different things. Cutters, people who dress in black, even people who wear bright colors, anything sad or depressing etc. So nothing can really be “emo” unless you’re talking about the music genre. it’s just a term people use. I’m sure not every single “emo” person in the entire world is smart and uses big words like those bands you listen to. OR maybe you just don’t know a lot of words and need to invest in a dictionary like 0kai0 said. To be honest…I think this was just a really stupid question and you should feel stupid just for asking it…

Haha, no. Generally ‘emo’ bands have that kind of appearance just to have some kind of ‘look’ to attract certain kinds of people to their music. Some of them probably are smart, some probably aren’t, just because you look emo doesn’t mean you have a certain kind of intelligence. Try using a dictionary, then you’ll know what the words mean and won’t feel stupid. Take it as a learning experience and expand your vocabulary =P

emos are not a group or a movement ok!? we are people who have had sucky lives and we have found a way to cope! You cnnot just say your emo! Emo means emotional, we are sensitive….. we are shy, reserved, and misunderstood. a majority of emos are smart, outcasted people who refused to fit in….. you wanna be emo? You are what we call a poser….. a few cuts is not enough! Emo bands sing their feelings, they are not dumb, we are artists, poets, and musicians, so do not generalize!
