Are ear buds OK for your ears?

I was just wanting to know…

I clean inside my ears with those ear buds on a stick every night and people say its bad for your ears. I would like to know why it is bad.

Personally, I love cleaning them lol. A bit weird but I do.

I know what you mean by you loving cleaning them Lol.. Yeh it is supposed to push half of the wax back into your eardrum and can cause infections and bad hearing

you could get your ears cleaner but using a solution instead of q-tips but q-tips do work and clean my ears just fine…the only reason they say theyre bad for your ears is because you could pop your eardrum if you stick it in your ear too far…but if you dont go diggin for your brain youll be fine lol

apparently they just push the ear wax further down into your ear were you cant get to it plus theres the risk of going to far in and damaging your ear drum I use them though,not as often as you do but they seem to do a fine job at cleaning my ears

Use mineral oil if you want to clean your ears out, my ears are really screwy sometimes and as bad as Q-tips are I still use them. Mineral oil is a much more effective solution though, out a few drops in your ear and lie on your side for about five minutes and let it go in your ears, then turn over and drain it all out onto a tissue or what not, it cleans out your ears much better, melting the wax rather then pushing it back.
