Hay I was wondering at what age do you get a colonoscopy? On a scale of 1 to 10 how much does it hurt? And how far does the finger get put up there?

They usually suggest getting one every 5 years after the age of 50…on a scale of 1 to 10…the pain level is 0…they knock you out, and you don’t remember anything.

Usually it ranges from 40 years and up. But it also depends if you have medical problems with your colon. I am in my early thirties and have to get one in the next couple of weeks, do to medical problems.
They don’t put a finger up there, they put a long slender tube with a camera at the end.
From what my doctor told me, you are knocked out for the procedure and it will take a couple of days to start to feel back to normal with going to the bathroom. The pain during the procedure should be a zero.
