Torrent can bring in shows, but it can also bring in bad malware. Safe (and legal) sources include: Hulu has some free TV shows you can watch for free. (Not nearly as many as it used to; oh well.) Also many networks stream limited episodes of their shows for a while. Check out the parent company of a show and the network's website of the show you want to watch.
Many people would go into torrent and download the shows for free. But downloading torrent shows and movies is illegal as it is a form of piracy. The only legal ways I know cost money. Usually places like Netflix, Amazon and Apple would have shows and documentaries.
Do not use torrent if you have important stuff on your computer. It will give you a viris. I like crackle and netflix... I know netflix is not free its like 7$ a month. But they both have good movies and shows.
