Any ideas how to get rid of waist odor?

Hi folks,

I recently ran a marathon and somehow ended up chafing my waist in the front badly - I think it was the tie-cord on my shorts that rubbed back and forth to the point of bleeding (gross, I know).

Anyhow, it’s been a few weeks now and the blood is gone but there is a distinct sour smell that is coming from the area, even after I shower.

Any idea what it is or how I can get rid of it?

See a doctor. You could have a fungal or bacterial infection or something potentially worse. How do we know? We’re not physicians. You COULD try to just cover up the odor like the other reply suggests, or you could try to treat the problem by going to a doctor and ruling out any host of medical conditions that athletes have.

I agree with kdsmm. Go see a doctor. Usually smell is associated with bacteria or fungus.

On a side note, congratulations on completing a marathon!

Answer #3

there is a powder name brand gold bond…do not use the medicated one. they have one in a white container. use that. it smells nice and will help with chaffing.
