uninsured family

I have been struggling to pay the bills so far and I had to cut some bills, one including my health insurance. My job cut the pay, and no longer provide health insurance. I am worried because I have a wife(who is injuried), mother with type 2 diabetes, and 3 children unisured. I feel so suckish and feel like I failed in my responsibility, but the thing I need most is to get them insured, but with what money? my bills are tight and I squeeze it, but the health insurance was too, high to squeeze. Is there any way I can get my family insured for free until I get on my feet, because the worst thing that ponders my mind, if someone were to get sick, your help appreciated : )

Transport is a hug cost. Use a scooter, a little 50cc thing, even to bring your shildren to school. Seriously. They use only a couple of litres of fuel, like 5 litres (or so) and get 150km ish.

Also in NZ we get no WOF, cheap insurance on scooters, cheap as rego, like at least a third of a car

I did a bit of research on this, and you might want to look into applying for Medicaid or SCHIP. The State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) is a United States federal government program that gives funds to states in order to provide health insurance to families with children. The program was designed to cover uninsured children in families with incomes that are modest but too high to qualify for Medicaid.
