ummm.. Advisors?

I think my friends account was just deleted… but I’m pretty sure he did nothing wrong… Why is that?

Answer #1

Highly doubt it.

Answer #2

Signing up means someone is agreeing to the rules, we cant make things any more straight forward. If they choose not to read those rules than that’s their own problem.

We’re not babysitters, we aren’t going to chase people down like that to ‘teach’ them, they either get it or they don’t.

Answer #3

Are you serious? 231 pieces of advice, not even 1 was helpful and it just got annoying to the point where users were getting angry.

Answer #4

Obviously. I mean if someone is just going to post answers like “hahahaahahahaha” and things like that, they don’t need to be here :)

Answer #5

well if there not going to post helpful answers they should’nt have people helping them

Answer #6

Ah actually I just want to add…

People do get emails automatically when their account is deleted. If your friend didn’t, they were either using a fake email, or need to check their Junk folder.

Answer #7

and let them know, so maybe they’d start helping!!! that seems like a good way to go. now I can’t talk to him!!! EVER!!! :(:(:(:(

Answer #8

I just want my friend back. he seemed to understand!!! most my friends don’t get anything I say!! only one did and she’s gone forever!!!

Answer #9

well then maybe they’d learn what they was doing was wrong. don’t ya think?? teach someone something, maybe??

Answer #10

you delete accounts for that?!?!?!?!

Answer #11

and let them know, so maybe they’d start helping!

They’d start helping? It’s a friggin ADVICE site, seems logical to help from the beginning…

Answer #12

They can sign up again, if they follow the rules…we didn’t ban their IP address or anything. We reserve that for repeat offenders OR extremely obnoxious people.

Answer #13

I agree that they should be sent an email stating why they were deleted, but it does seem a bit ridiculous that someone wouldn’t know to give advice on a site called funadvice.com. And I read some of Hidan’s answers today, and they weren’t helpful at all, so I can see where the problem was.

Answer #14

MY FRIEND TRIED 2 SIGN UP AGAIN && LIKE 10MIN LATER GOT DELETED SO I THINK HER IP ADDRESS GOT BANNED && SHES DEFINITELY NOT AN OFFENDER!!

That means she was really obnoxious or repeatedly went against the ToU.

Answer #15

maybe if she was that important to you, you should have gotten an email address or something instead of relying entirely on this website to stay in contact with them.

Answer #16

Thanks, I’m glad someone gets it. I agree an e-mail should be sent and I brought it up in the editors group to discuss so maybe it can be a feature we add :)

Answer #17

But, for the record, the email they get apparently just states that their account was deleted. It doesn’t explain why. Admins are considering how to add a “reason” in the email.

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Answer #18

Ugh… 231 answers and not even 1 helpful one.

:) That’s why…repeatedly posting rude, unhelpful OR off topic answers = your account will be removed.

http://www.funadvice.com/doc/terms

Per our terms of use…and, from what we can see, less than .5% of the people who sign up actually read it…so, if they want to use our site, tell them to actually read the rules next time.

Answer #19

well… now I’m sad… this was the only way I can talk to him. :(:(:(

Answer #20

Who is your friend?

Without knowing who he is, we can’t tell you what the reason was.

Answer #21

he can get his account back still… only if he follows the rules…

Answer #22

whatever. but people do learn from there mistakes. Ever hear the saying?

Answer #23

mmm… :( I hope he signs up again.

Answer #24

Yep - I’m not going to argue with you though, my point obviously isn’t drilling into your brain ;)

Answer #25

he helped me more than anyone on here… :(

Answer #26

doubting is not a for sure answer.

Answer #27
