Ultrasound

Home More advice Health

My gynecologist recently recommended that I have an ultrasound. I've been having severe abdominal pain and some extreme dysfunctional uterine bleeding. That time of the month sucks for me since I had my son. ANYWAYS- the need for me to have an ultrasound to rule out any tumors or other abnormalities was necessary. It turned up an 1.5 inch long by 1 inch wide hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary; hence the pain. Now my insurance company, which already requires practically a blood sacrifice from my paycheck every 2 weeks, is saying that I have to pay the entire $265 for the 5 minute ultrasound. How do I fight this? Do I just tell them no? Do I get like some explanation from my doctor to give them about why this was necessary for a non-pregnant woman? I can't afford all of this. My son has been sick and his medicine is expensive. Do I have any means to fight this?
