It means they’re calling somebody else a hypocrite. Like if somebody who was massively overweight called another person fat one might say it was a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
Obviously this isn’t the case anymore, but, as I understand it, pots and kettles were both dark cast iron cookware that might be blackened with soot. So one calling the other black is hypocritical because they both are.
examples…
1- if an obese women calls another women fat.
2- like being a hypocrite
3- if one acusses another of something they to are gulity of.
Someone’s saying that what someone else said is hypocritical. Old fashioned cast iron pots, pans, etc. are black. So, um, it’s like sour cream making fun of an egg for being white.
